We are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Engineer to support manufacturing operations at our Buffalo, NY metalworking facility. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems across production equipment and facility infrastructure. The ideal candidate will help drive equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities Equipment Maintenance & Reliability- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on CNC machines, presses, lathes, mills, welding equipment, and other metalworking machinery.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, PLC, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Diagnose root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain and update maintenance logs, CMMS records, and service documentation.
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment performance, safety, and efficiency.
- Lead or support reliability improvement projects and process optimization efforts.
- Assist in developing and refining preventive maintenance programs.
- Support installation, commissioning, and startup of new equipment.
- Work with contractors, OEMs, and internal teams during equipment upgrades or plant modifications.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred.
- 3–7 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment (metalworking preferred).
- Equivalent combination of education and hands-on industrial experience considered.
- Strong knowledge of CNC equipment, machining centers, stamping or fabrication equipment.
- Experience with PLC troubleshooting
- Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Familiarity with CMMS systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
