- Assist with designing and developing minimum‑complexity products and components, and create and review material part specifications and bills of materials.
- Use CAD or CAE software to develop structural designs, model new concepts, and produce detailed engineering drawings.
- Verify designs through calculations and analytical techniques.
- Understand manufacturing processes, especially metal fabrication and assemblies; apply DFM methodologies for productive packaging.
- Fulfill customer shop orders while respecting design rules and interface points.
- Define test requirements and interpret results to validate designs.
- Identify problems and root causes, and execute resolution plans.
- Apply lean principles to manufacturing and business processes.
- Execute engineering changes through established processes and documentation.
- Commit to excellence and high standards.
- Knowledge of manufacturing industry and vocational standards.
- Experience with CAD and CAE software.
- Problem‑solving techniques (5 why & root cause analysis).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with hourly employees and leadership.
- Strong work ethic; highly motivated, organized, and self‑disciplined.
- Versatile, flexible, and willing to work with changing priorities.
- Ability to stay on task and prioritize concurrent assignments in a high‑pressure environment.

- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and layouts.

- Associate’s Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or equivalent.
- 0–2 years of related experience.
- General office environment with occasional work on the plant floor.
The pay scale for newly hired employees in this position in New York is $58,500 – $77,500. Base pay may vary based on knowledge, skills, and experience. Competitive benefits are available in addition to competitive pay.
