Job Title: EDM Machining Technical Trainer

Reporting To: Management, Manufacturing Plant Management

Work Schedule: Onsite – Buffalo, NY

Moog in East Aurora, NY is seeking an EDM Machining Technical Trainer to join our new training center. As an EDM Machining Technical Trainer, you will work as part of a team to train and mentor employees on the skills and knowledge required to become a proficient EDM machinist for Moog precision components. You will ensure that training programs are designed to meet the needs of the organization and its employees, enhancing their technical skills and knowledge.

Students of Moog’s Training Center will include current employees, new employees, and apprentices.

• Work onsite at our training center located in East Aurora, NY.
• Deliver extensive EDM machining knowledge and experience to training center students, including conventional machine tools, manual and CNC machining (programming for Mill, Lathe, EDM, Grind) and manual processes like finishing and metrology.
• Translate Moog specific product and process knowledge to address skills gaps within the organization.
• Coach and mentor students on machine operations, programming, machine safety, and kit-based learning in multiple work centers.
• Present training materials clearly and concisely, engage students, and provide one-on-one coaching.
• Conduct skills gap analyses to identify training needs and develop appropriate training solutions for each student and for the campus.
• Design and develop technical training courses for various levels, from beginners to advanced users.
• Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure training programs align with organizational goals and industry standards.
• Assess the effectiveness of training programs through feedback and performance metrics, and implement improvements as needed.
• Demonstrate Moog’s culture and values in everyday processes, interactions, and activities.

• A secondary school qualification (HS diploma, GED, etc. in the US) or basic vocational/technical education in a related discipline.
• Over five (5) years of EDM machining experience, including machine operations, programming, and machine safety.
• At least five (5) years’ experience in technical training and mentoring of machinists at all levels (beginner to advanced).
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate and deliver training sessions and materials, including hands-on workshops, seminars, and online courses.
• Strong skills in translating technical needs into effective training initiatives to address skills gaps and knowledge transfer protocols.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively teach and mentor students.
• Positive attitude with a passion for helping others grow.
• Relocation assistance may be available for the right candidate.

• Additional machining experience with CNC lathe and mill.
• Proficiency in operations IT tools, systems and routers (e.g., Teamcenter).
• Knowledge of Moog products and machining processes.
