This part-time position allows you to develop and invest in future nurses and pays $50.00-$60.00 per hour.
Nurses are required to hold a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) to serve as clinical instructors.
Position Overview:
The goal of clinical education experiences at Trocaire College is to provide nursing students with multiple applied opportunities for demonstrating and integrating safe professional knowledge, skills, and attitudes while engaged with a variety of patients and health care professionals. These learning experiences occur under the supervision and mentorship of clinical faculty.
The Clinical Instructor has responsibility for teaching primarily in the clinical and laboratory settings. This role requires demonstrated knowledge, competence and experience in a specialty area of practice as a direct care provider and clinical educator. The role requires excellent organizational, written and oral interpersonal communication skills.
Responsibilities:
Required
- Minimum MSN Degree or currently enrolled in graduate nursing program
- Current/unencumbered New York State (NYS) nursing license as a registered nurse
- Current BLS Certification
- A minimum of two years of clinical experience
- Organizational, prioritization, and time management skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and professional skills
- Conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities
- Readily adapt to change
- Commitment to Mercy Mission and inclusive excellence
Preferred
- Experience in a higher education setting
- Experience in a clinical teaching role

While performing the duties of this job, the clinical instructor must be able to speak, hear, read, see, write, type, dial, reach, and bend. This position also requires the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 40 pounds. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
