Reporting to the Associate Director of Admissions Access Programs and SEEK, the SEEK Senior Admissions Advisor will identify new recruitment opportunities for students meeting the economic and academic eligibility requirements for the Percy Ellis Sutton / Search for Education Elevation and Knowledge (SEEK) program at CUNY SPS. The role provides proactive, high‑quality admissions advising and enrollment support to prospective and applicant SEEK students, working closely with staff and faculty to ensure a seamless transition for entering SEEK students.

Responsibilities
  • Reviews and processes admission applications, makes recommendations for admission, tracks prospect and applicant data in the School’s CRM and student information system, and provides data as needed for admissions and SEEK program reporting.
  • Cultivates and maintains relationships with strategic partners to support the admission and enrollment of SEEK students.
  • Represents the School at community events and college fairs, and participates in campus‑based admissions activities.
  • Actively engages in recruitment and selection of new SEEK students through reviewing admission documents, interviewing prospective students, and providing students with vital information about the program’s framework and administration.
  • Keeps current on federal, state, and University aid regulations and policies, as well as other University Office policies that impact financial aid.
  • Collaborates with the Office of Financial Aid to determine economic eligibility for prospective SEEK students, including FAFSA and TAP application status.
  • Analyzes current SEEK admissions data to recommend the development of future recruitment plans.
  • Maintains accurate and detailed applicant records.
  • Assists with departmental activities as needed and participates in School‑wide events.
Qualifications
  • At least 4 years of experience in an opportunity program admissions recruitment role.
  • Experience working with socio‑economically disadvantaged students.
  • Experience working with non‑traditional and transfer students.
  • Familiarity with People Soft and/or CUNYfirst and the aptitude to learn new systems as needed.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and sensitivity to diversity, inclusion, and equity‑minded policies, programs and practices.
  • Experience working with CRM systems.
  • Experience with Slate is a plus.
  • Ability to build rapport and maintain positive, professional relationships with students, staff, and faculty.
  • Evidence of proactive problem‑solving and follow‑up to resolve student issues.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well in a time‑sensitive, dynamic, student‑centered, and responsive office.
  • Flexibility to work evening and weekend hours as needed.
