Adjunct Instructor – Nursing RN Program
Alfred State is seeking an experienced nursing educator for an adjunct clinical instructor position. The Nursing Department has a reputation for graduating excellent Registered Nurses for more than half a century. Clinical instructors play a vital role in the education of our students.
Responsibilities- Supervise care provided by a group of students (usually 8‑10 students in a group)
- Coordinate with clinicians at the clinical site to make student patient assignments
- Teach students how to perform duties in the clinical setting and answer their questions
- Evaluate students’ clinical work; additional expectations will be discussed at interview
- Participate in weekly level meetings
- A master’s degree in nursing or nursing education is required; applicants actively pursuing a master’s degree will be considered
- NYS Professional Nursing license and current CPR certification required, along with a strong clinical background in healthcare
- Excellent teaching, clinical, and communication skills; critical thinking, problem‑solving, and organizational abilities; and computer skills
- Experience with simulation is desirable
Adjunct rates start at $1,500 per lecture credit and $1,125 per lab credit. Employees also receive exceptional benefits, including extensive healthcare and retirement options, and a pension plan.
