NOTICE OF POSITIONThe Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Pascal Mubenga, is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of curriculum committee member to serve as needed from August 2025 to June 2027.

QUALIFICATIONSCandidates must hold a New York State teacher certification, be currently employed with the Buffalo Public Schools as a tenured teacher, and have knowledge of the Next Generation Learning Standards ELA and the Blueprint for English Language Learner/Multilingual Learner (ELL/MLL) Success. Candidates must also be either currently teaching in a dual language: one-way or two-way program, or working as a Special Education Bilingual teacher, or teaching HLA, or working as a department TOSA.
The candidate must be bilingual – English / Spanish.
Committee members will work directly with the Division of Multilingual Education and/or curriculum administrators. Committees must complete a variety of assignments within a mandated time frame. Assignments include but are not limited to developing frameworks and relevant content for Spanish Home Language Arts to align with K-5 and Grades 6 ELA modules from Engage
NY. Committee members will participate in professional development to increase knowledge and skills required to fulfill responsibilities of related committee work.
Appointment will be made by the Board of Education upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, following assessment of training, experience, credentials and evaluation of service. Personal interviews shall be scheduled where appropriate.
SALARYCommittee members will be paid at the contractual rate.
