Superintendent, Commercial Masonry Construction
The Superintendent – Masonry is responsible for leading field operations across multiple commercial masonry projects in Western New York. This role ensures safety, quality, and schedule performance while driving execution of block, brick, and structural masonry work on commercial projects. A key focus is developing and mentoring foremen and superintendents to strengthen overall field leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee multiple superintendents and foremen on concurrent projects.
- Plan and sequence masonry work, manpower, and materials.
- Lead quality assurance and quality control processes.
- Enforce company safety programs, including fall protection, silica compliance, and scaffold/swing stage standards.
- Coordinate inspections, deliveries, and vendor relationships.
- Utilize project management technology (Procore, MS Project, digital daily reports).
- Coach, mentor, and evaluate field leadership to ensure accountability and team growth.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in masonry construction, including 5+ years in a superintendent or higher‑level role.
- Proven success managing multiple large‑scale commercial masonry projects.
- Strong background in safety leadership and project scheduling.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
- Skilled in developing teams, setting expectations, and driving accountability.
