We seek a dedicated individual to join as a Child Protection Assistant Supervisor, supporting programs that provide protective, preventative, and support services to children, parents, and foster families using the Family Centred Case Management and PRIDE Models.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate leadership through coaching, mentoring, and empowering staff, and will work effectively with colleagues, caregivers, and partner agencies. Strong knowledge of child abuse, neglect, domestic violence indicators, and social work theories is essential, along with expertise in policy and practice for child and family programs. Cultural competence and understanding of multi-cultural beliefs, especially First Nations and Mtis, are critical.
Qualifications include a Bachelor of Social Work or Indigenous Social Work from an accredited university and several years of experience in Child Protection/Childrens Services and supervising professional staff.
Responsibilities include guiding staff, supporting placements, liaising with First Nations CFS and community agencies, and representing the Ministry on committees. Travel may be required. Buffalo Narrows offers year-round recreation and a welcoming community.
