Audit Department Intern

Duties Description
NYSIF's Premium Audit Department (PAD) is seeking student interns to assist with reviewing audit records and uploads, contacting record uploaders regarding incomplete or inadequate documentation and requesting outstanding records to ensure audits are completed in a timely manner.

PAD is responsible for auditing an insured's business records to determine actual exposure to make a final calculation of premium for workers' compensation insurance policies.

• Be actively enrolled in a New York State college, university, or graduate program, or be a resident of New York State, attending a college, university, or graduate program outside of New York State.
• Have completed a minimum of one (1) year as a student at a degree‑granting two or four‑year college or university (completion of one year's worth of academic credits over a longer period may qualify part‑time students for participation in the program).
• Have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0, or the letter grade equivalent.
• Able to work full‑time Summer (37.50 hours weekly) and part‑time (10‑15 hours per week) fall and spring.

• Desire to work in public service.
• Preferred major(s):
  Accounting.
