Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Williamsville, New York. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting financial operations, ensuring accuracy in reporting, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a commitment to maintaining high standards while handling sensitive company information.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and record adjusting journal entries to support the monthly financial close process.

- Compile and present monthly financial reports for submission to the parent company.

- Manage fixed assets by creating new entries in the sub-ledger and processing depreciation schedules.

- Investigate account discrepancies and reconcile variances to maintain accurate records.

- Support the annual budget preparation process by gathering and analyzing financial data.

- Generate and review general ledger reconciliation reports on a monthly and quarterly basis to ensure compliance.

- Draft thorough and accurate correspondence, including memos, reports, and presentations, as requested by leadership.

- Organize and maintain accounting documentation to ensure proper recordkeeping.

- Uphold company confidentiality by safeguarding sensitive financial and operational information.

- Demonstrate a high standard of conduct in both appearance and behavior during work hours and at company events. Requirements - At least 5 years of experience in accounting or a related field.

- Proficiency in preparing and managing journal entries.

- Strong knowledge of general ledger processes and reconciliations.

- Familiarity with accounts payable procedures and best practices.

- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.

- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.

- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

- Proficient in using accounting software and tools to streamline financial operations.
