Role Description

Say Yes Buffalo seeks a detail-oriented and self-driven Senior Accountant for a full-time, on-site role in Buffalo, NY. The Senior Accountant will manage and oversee all financial reporting activities, maintain accurate general ledger records, and ensure compliance with accounting standards. Daily responsibilities include preparing financial statements, reconciling accounts, creating budgets, supporting audits, and monitoring cash flows. Additionally, the Senior Accountant will collaborate with other departments, oversee financial transactions, and provide guidance on financial policies and procedures.

Qualifications
  • Expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, and knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Proficiency in accounting software and other tools like Excel and financial management systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Experience in account reconciliation, financial planning, and audits
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills to collaborate across departments
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is a plus
  • Proven experience working in a non-profit organization or public sector is advantageous
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
