Accountant

Are you an experienced Accountant who loves rolling up your sleeves and getting into the details of financial operations, inventory, and profitability? Staff Buffalo is partnering with a well-established and growing manufacturing company in the Buffalo area to hire a full-time Accountant, offering $80,000–$90,000 annually plus excellent benefits and a collaborative, people-first culture.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated accounting professional who enjoys variety in their day and wants to make a meaningful impact in a hands‑on environment. The Accountant will take ownership of day‑to‑day accounting functions, oversee inventory tracking, manage payroll, and play a key role in analyzing costs and profitability. You’ll work closely with leadership, production, and account management teams — not just behind the scenes, but as an active contributor in management meetings and strategic discussions.

The ideal Accountant is personable, analytical, and detail‑driven — someone who thrives in a fast‑moving setting, enjoys collaborating with others, and takes pride in accuracy and process improvement. This position offers strong visibility, growth potential, and the chance to make a real difference in the success of a respected local company.

This is an on‑site position based in the Buffalo area, NY.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage daily accounting operations, including invoicing, accounts receivable/payable, and reconciliations

  • Maintain detailed inventory records using Fishbowl software
  • Prepare and process payroll using Paychex
  • Track and manage royalty payments owed and received
  • Participate in management meetings to provide financial insights and reporting
  • Assist in analyzing costs, margins, and profitability to identify improvement opportunities
  • Create and monitor purchase orders and related documentation
  • Collaborate with production and inventory teams to ensure data accuracy and process efficiency
  • Build strong relationships with major accounts and discuss pricing, billing, and profitability as needed
Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or product‑based environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset
  • Proficiency with Quick Books; experience with Fishbowl or other inventory systems a plus
  • Experience with payroll processing and familiarity with Paychex preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills — comfortable working across departments and with clients
  • Self‑motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
Compensation & Benefits:
  • $80,000–$90,000 annual salary, depending on experience
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid vacation and NYS sick time accrual
  • Stable, growing company with long‑term customer relationships
  • Opportunities to build new strategies and make a visible impact
