Overview
Shift: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM (days) or 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM (nights), 2/2/3 schedule. Job Type: Full-Time. Pay Rate: $25 to $33 per hour.

The Automation Technician provides automation engineering support for high-speed assembly equipment and manufacturing systems. The role focuses on maintaining continuous system operation, performing troubleshooting and preventive maintenance on robotic and automated equipment, and assisting engineering teams with automation system qualification and installation.
Responsibilities- Maintain continuous system operation by adjusting, repairing, replacing, or modifying automation and robotic system components
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems and return equipment to serviceability
- Ensure preventative maintenance of robotic and process support equipment is completed on a regular schedule
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical diagrams, and automated system drawings
- Collaborate with the automation team in the qualification process of automated systems
- Assist engineers in developing and designing hardware and software required for automation solutions
- Identify machine malfunctions and isolate failure mechanisms through troubleshooting
- Repair equipment failures in the most cost-effective manner
- Perform preventive maintenance, calibrations, and equipment re-qualification at scheduled intervals
- Assist process technicians and engineers with installation and removal of process equipment
- Analyze and implement corrective action reports and process tracking mechanisms
- Disassemble instruments and equipment and inspect components for defects
- Align, repair, replace, and balance component parts and circuitry
- Assist engineers in developing test, calibration, repair, and evaluation procedures for instruments and equipment
- Record procedures, results, numerical data, and recommendations for process improvements
- Maintain software, documentation, and equipment to the latest operational specifications
- Use power tools and measuring equipment safely
- Maintain strong awareness of safety procedures

- Associate’s degree, military training, vocational training, or equivalent experience
- Typically requires 2+ years of related experience
- Prior experience in an equipment maintenance position
- Understanding of PLCs
- Computer skills
- Experience with material handling, automation, and/or robotics equipment
- Knowledge of pneumatic systems
- Experience with electronic assembly including schematics, PCB loading, and mechanical assembly
- Experience with cable work including crimping, harness assembly, connector or wire soldering, and cable preparation
- Experience with testing tools such as oscilloscopes and troubleshooting equipment
