Hilton Buena Park Anaheim - Accounting Supervisor-Field

Compensation $24.00 - $27.00/hour

The Accounting Supervisor-Field supervises associates working in one or more accounting functions. Typically supervises associates that record transactions, invoices, or payments to the organization’s general ledger or accounts payables/receivables systems. Ensures transactions or records are entered accurately and in a timely manner. Researches and resolves discrepancies. Assists the hotel leadership with accounting close processes or the creation of financial statements and reports.

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Certified Public Accountant preferred.
• A minimum of 1 year in public accounting and/or accounting management, preferably in the hospitality or real estate industry.
• Requires extensive knowledge of all areas of hotel accounting and finance.
• Strong leadership, coordination and coaching skills.
• Requires thorough understanding of generally accepted accounting principles.
• Strong communication and interviewing skills.
• Must be able to manage multiple projects, simultaneously.
• Strong critical thinking/analytical ability.

• Adhere to the policies outlined in the Aimbridge Employee Handbook.
• Establishes and maintains relationships with hotel leadership, including all interactions, processes and workflow necessary to ensure that property-level financial results are accurately communicated.
• Maintains accounting policies and procedures and systems of internal control.
• Assists with the coordination of responses to internal and external audit groups.
• Ensures implementation and adherence to Aimbridge document management and retention policies.
• Helps with oversight of daily and period-closing activities and provides guidance to Staff Accountants during the process:
  • Review and approve bank and balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Oversee resolution of accounting discrepancies and issues
  • Review and approve property financial reports and analysis
  • Ensure the completeness and accuracy of financial statements through review and ensuring monthly closing steps have been performed completely and accurately
• Participate in meetings and on committees as requested by leadership.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; and participating in professional organizations.
• Develops and maintains appropriate key performance indicators (kpi’s) to aid in financial statement analysis and understanding.
• Oversees staff development, ensuring training checklists are fully utilized and updated as needed.
