Job SummaryIn this role, you will help sustain Mennel’s tradition of excellence established in 1886 as well as support our food safety programs and mission to reliably deliver superior quality, uniformity, and service. The purpose of this position will be to carry out the transferring operations of the packing and loading department of the assigned shift. Maintain safe, high-quality products and adhere to the food safety policy, mission, purpose, and quality statements.
PrimaryAssigned Work Shifts
Monday through Friday 7AM – 3PM; 11PM – 7AM; or 3PM – 11PM: may vary depending on workload and schedule needed. Weekend overtime hours may be required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Follow all safety rules and GMP’s.
- Operate all equipment in a safe manner.
- Abide by corporate programs / policies.
- Coordinate transferring operations with the mill.
- Interface with Logistics on shipping schedules.
- Maintain effective communication with work force through daily exchanges.
- Acts as a resource for members of the facility team.
- Communicate well with all levels of the organization, and actively engage others in problem solving.
- Ensure that orders are transferred timely and efficiently.
- Complete the following documentation:
- Transfer Log
- Tailings log
- Magnet Log
- Ingredient Log
- Bin inspection log
- Sifter maintenance log
- Cleaning
- Make sure work areas are being kept clean and tidy.
- Make sure messes are cleaned up promptly.
- Perform sifter maintenance:
- Essential skills include but not limited to:
- Ability to understand and comply with all lockout procedures.
- Ability to understand the flow of the sifters.
- Ability to lift, clean, inspect, and repair sieves.
- Essential skills include but not limited to:
- Ability to follow the standard procedures for this task.
- Other duties assigned by team lead / supervisor.

- Minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required.
- Must have solid communication skills and be able to interact and productively communicate with all levels of the organization.
- Must possess the ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.
- Must exercise solid common-sense judgement when making decisions.
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, memos, procedures, and plans. Ability to write reports, complete checklists and other basic documentation and correspondence. Ability to effectively and professionally present information or data in one‑on‑one and small group situations to co‑workers, supervisors, and managers.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Must have ability to read and comprehend basic financial statements and other business‑related documents.
Reasoning AbilityMust use solid judgment when making decisions. Must have ability to quickly recognize and plan for rapidly moving and changing work schedules and event calendars.
Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job: while performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to perform various tasks, use of basic office tools, reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, twist, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust.
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job: while performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to conditions that are typical to a fast‑paced manufacturing environment, including: moving equipment and machinery, dusty, hot/humid and cold conditions and employee must be willing to work in all weather conditions, at heights, in precarious places;
in the presence of airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment usually requires the use of hearing protection.
