Job Title: Apprentice Pastry Chef

Salary: £12.21 per hour

Job Description
  • Food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and presentation skills
  • Working efficiently in a fast‑paced kitchen environment
  • Understanding and maintaining food hygiene, safety, and allergen regulations
  • Assisting in the production of high‑quality meals for students, staff and special events
  • Learning how to work with fresh, seasonal ingredients to create healthy and delicious dishes
  • Supporting stock control, ordering and kitchen organisation
Qualifications
  • Essential: A keen interest in cooking and professional catering
  • Agricultural or culinary GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above preferred). If not already achieved, we will support you to complete these as part of the apprenticeship.
  • Willingness to learn and work towards a Level 2 Commis Chef Apprenticeship
  • A strong work ethic, enthusiasm and commitment to training
  • Desirable: Previous kitchen experience (not essential but beneficial)
  • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (training will be provided if not held)
  • Knowledge of food safety, allergens and hygiene standards
