Senior Engineer – Groundworks & Drainage

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Engineer (or a strong Engineer ready to step up) to join a major £20m industrial development in Aylesbury, consisting of 5 industrial units on a large, complex site.

Project Overview

* Large brownfield site with existing slabs

* Adjacent to residential flats

* Live sewer diversion running through the site

* Extensive groundworks, remediation, and ground improvement prior to main foundations

Key Responsibilities

* Managing and coordinating complex drainage and sewer diversion works

* Engineering input into groundworks, remediation earthworks, and vibro piling

* Strong control of setting out, policing works on site, and checking records

* Overseeing QA, ITPs, paperwork, and technical compliance

* Ensuring engineering activities remain well organised, accurate, and on programme

* Close coordination with site team, subcontractors, and design teams

Key Experience Required

* Proven experience on groundworks-heavy projects

* Strong knowledge of drainage, sewer diversions, and ground improvement techniques

* Experience with vibro piling and remediation works

* Excellent attention to detail with QA and technical checking

* Ability to work on constrained or sensitive sites

Ideal Candidate

* Senior Engineer or Engineer ready to take the next step

* Proactive, organised, and technically strong

* Comfortable taking ownership of engineering activities on site
