• Delivery of nursing care through the use of the nursing process with shift accountability.
• Accept accountability, apply competent clinical knowledge, and use independent nursing judgment for care provided by self and by health care providers to whom care is delegated to achieve quality patient care outcomes.
• Provide professional nursing care for patients in an inpatient hospital setting, with knowledge and skills at the advanced beginner level to address life span growth and development.
• Assess and interpret patient data to identify age-specific needs.
• Modify patient’s plan of care based on data collection and patient’s individual needs.
• Use Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) to provide patient care.
• Delegate according to scope of practice and verify the plan of care with interprofessional colleagues, patient, and caregivers.
• Provide education based on learning needs and involve the family.
• Promote effective communication among interprofessional team members and healthcare consumers.
• Contribute to policy development to promote safe patient care and utilize appropriate resources in providing care.
• Participate in continuing professional development and activities related to nurse-sensitive indicators to enhance quality of care.
• Identify ethical situations and seek guidance from appropriate colleagues; maintain an ethical work environment conducive to safe, quality health care.

• Current unencumbered licensure with the WV Board of Registered Professional Nurses, or appropriate state board where services will be provided, as a registered professional nurse OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
• Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.
• One (1) year of nursing experience.

• Minimize manual lifting; use lift equipment for transfers and repositioning as indicated by patient profile and algorithms.
• Heavy/Hard work: lifting, moving, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, carrying 40+ lbs.
• Normal visual and hearing acuity required for clinical assessment and monitoring.

• Working protracted or irregular hours.
• Working around biohazards and infectious diseases.
• Working around the deceased and with patient care equipment that may involve electrical hazards.
