Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:Grocery Clerk (Bakery/Deli) will prepare items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment.Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.Provide customers with fresh products ordered and the correct portion size to prevent shrink.Recommend deli or bakery items to customers.Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to company guidelines.Prepare foods following temperature logs and cooking instructions.Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients according to recipes using appropriate utensils and equipment.Properly prepare, package, label, and inventory ingredients.Check product quality, review "sell by" dates, and take appropriate actions.Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.Report discrepancies in product ordering/shipping to the manager.Understand store layout and locate products for customers.Stay current with ads and promotions.Maintain knowledge of products and respond to customer questions and suggestions.Monitor inventory and stocking conditions, noting discrepancies.Ensure proper temperature maintenance in cases and coolers, and keep logs.Promote trust and respect among associates.Create a welcoming environment for customers.Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.Reinforce safety procedures and report unsafe conditions.Inspect equipment and report repairs needed.Notify management of accidents involving customers or employees.Work cooperatively in a fast-paced, stressful environment.Manage conflicts professionally and cooperatively.Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.Follow directions and seek assistance when needed.Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.Qualifications
Minimum Position Qualifications:Knowledge of basic math.Ability to obtain a current food handler’s permit upon employment.Desired Previous Job
