The Rack Inspector is responsible for servicing and repairing Harp Rack equipment at Cardinal IG, a world‑class glass fabricator that leads the nation in providing the highest quality insulating glass products for the residential window and door industry.
Essential Functions- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, safety practices and guidelines
- Conduct maintenance, preventative maintenance, and repairs on harp racks, ensuring both functionality and aesthetics by servicing rollers and wheels, adjusting rod tension, replacing components, and applying paint
- Regularly inspect and clean harp racks for signs of damage and perform necessary repairs
- Utilize a range of power tools and equipment for harp rack repairs
- Maintain accurate and timely service records, work orders, and parts usage documentation for repairs and maintenance services
- Perform inventory assessments of harp rack repair supplies, informing the Parts team when restocking is necessary
- Maintain continuous communication with team and other departments to schedule harp rack maintenance and notify maintenance of major damage requiring significant repairs such as welding
- Update information in system when harp rack cleanings or repairs have been completed
- Conduct regular cleaning of the sort jet stalls, where glass racks are loaded into the machines
- Consistently ensure that the squid nozzles are thoroughly cleaned
- Ensure prompt removal of glass to prevent equipment downtime and potential damage
- Transport harp racks using Ryder pallet jack when necessary
- Ability to multitask effectively to maintain harp racks and provide assistance to various departments as needed
- Perform housekeeping tasks in the workspace to maintain a clean work area
- Assist the team, leads, and management in achieving departmental objectives
- Ensure open communication with manager and team by ensuring radio remains on while working on the plant floor
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills, including attention to detail
- May be required to work overtime, different shifts, and perform additional tasks to meet company needs and deadlines
- Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and potentially sharp objects
- Noise level can be high and will vary based on location in the plant
- Consistent work history in glass manufacturing or warehouse setting preferred
- Must be 18 years or older
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Basic experience in hand tools gained through mechanical experience, educational institute, etc. required
- Basic computer skills required
- Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time
- Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs
- Climbing/ Manipulation/Reaching/Push/Pull/Grip/Pinch

Pay: $18.00/hour
