Under the direction of the healthcare provider, Medical Assistant is responsible for delivering patient care that promotes the safety and wellbeing of all patients. Responsibilities include performing patient assessments, executing the nursing process, and completing clerical tasks such as answering the telephone, checking patients in and out, and scheduling follow‑ups.

• Check patients in upon arrival
• Check patients out
• Answer the telephone
• Receive payments
• Schedule follow‑up appointments
• Perform general patient care by following established standards and procedures
• Obtain and record vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, height, weight, drug allergies, current medications, and presenting problems
• Draw and collect blood samples, prepare specimens for laboratory analysis
• Administer ordered medications and/or vaccines via oral, injection, topical, rectal, ophthalmic, and/or inhalant routes
• Perform routine tests such as EKGs
• Schedule patients for diagnostic testing and ensure completion
• Communicate with patients regarding test results and plan of care by phone or mail as directed
• Prepare, clean, sterilize instruments, maintain equipment, keep exam rooms stocked, clean, and orderly; dispose of contaminated items per protocol
• Document patient plans of care, tests, and exam results in the medical record
• Escalate non‑routine issues to the practice manager or healthcare provider
• Ensure safety checklists / quality controls are completed
• Provide patient safety and protect privacy rights
• Perform other duties as assigned by practice manager, MA Lead, or healthcare provider

• High school diploma or equivalent (required)
• Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program (preferred)
• NHA Certification or EMT‑Basic (required)
• BLS or ACLS (required)
• 1 year Medical Assistant or EMT experience (required)
