Our quality control inspectors manage the project-specific quality control program, ensuring the highest level of project quality by implementing testing, inspections, and reporting as required. This position does not supervise the work of others but oversees the work of trade contractor employees.
Duties/Responsibilities- Oversees project construction for compliance with specifications, federal, state, local codes, and installation techniques.
- Coordinates the commissioning process.
- Performs QC inspections for all divisions on site and at vendors’ shops.
- Coordinates Owner training requirements.
- Attends meetings as necessary.
- Coordinates QA/QC efforts with construction and engineering staff.
- Ensures QA/QC efforts are coordinated with the project schedule.
- Creates and/or reviews quality plans, commissioning plan, and submittals.
- Implements inspection plans and monitors progress.
- Documents all non-compliance issues and follows up with resolution data.
- Reports QA/QC progress; submits QA/QC monthly report to the Director of QA/QC.
- Develops and maintains relationships with customers, consultants, and contractors.
- Performs other duties to ensure projects are delivered successfully and client is satisfied.
- Maintains excellent attendance and punctuality.
- High school diploma (or equivalent) supplemented by trade school and/or college-level coursework in construction, engineering, or related field.
- Five years of MEP trade experience as a construction inspector, trade foreman, or assistant superintendent, or a combination of training and experience.
Skills And Abilities
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external clients.
- Knowledge of supervisory principles and practices.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local codes.
- Ability to manage many simultaneous challenges across multiple divisions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate technical material to a non-technical audience.
- Familiarity with the commissioning process.
