Patient Care Assistant I – CHI
Job Summary and Responsibilities
Performs a variety of routine tasks to support the delivery of safe, effective, cost‑efficient patient care as delegated by the RN. They provide assistance in transporting, transferring, and lifting. They perform cleaning functions in the patient care unit as delegated and perform selected diagnostic tests.
Essential Key Job Responsibilities
- Provides direct patient care as delegated by RN staff
- Monitors and records vital signs
- Assists in providing personal hygiene and physical care needs
- Accurately measures, records, and reports intake and output
- Obtains and records daily weight
- Performs blood glucose testing using blood glucose meter
Job Requirements
Required Licensure and Certifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- BLS – AHA
Required Minimum Skills, Abilities, and Training
- Good written/oral communication skills
- Prior patient care experience preferred
