Job Overview
We are seeking innovators to join our newly formed Applications Engineering (AE) Team at &E. In this role, you will work closely with our customers and AE Team members to develop and deploy automated Pro Max models tailored to their facilities, driving enhanced reliability and process optimization in the energy and chemicals industries. This position offers opportunities to leverage your technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and passion for invention to deliver impactful solutions that shape the future of energy.
Key Responsibilities
* Model Development:
Design and implement automated Pro Max models as soft sensors to optimize oil & gas and petrochemical processes using plant data.
* Customer
Collaboration:
Partner with clients to understand their facility operations, process requirements, and optimization goals.
* Process Optimization:
Analyze simulations to identify opportunities for improving reliability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness of customer facilities.
* Project Management:
Manage projects from initial scope to delivery, ensuring timely completion.
* Knowledge Sharing:
Publish and present technical papers at professional forums, conferences, and associations.
* Continuous Improvement:
Collaborate with &E's Development Team to enhance Pro Max capabilities, incorporating feedback from customer applications.
Qualifications
* Experience:
* Work experience in a plant production environment is preferred, preferably in oil & gas or related industries (upstream/midstream, refining, or petrochemicals).
* Hands-on experience applying process simulation software to solve challenging problems.
* Experience with process control systems and process troubleshooting is a plus.
* Skills:
* Creative problem-solving and analytical abilities.
* Polished communication skills for collaborating with clients and internal teams.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
* Familiarity with scripting (e.g., Python, VBA) is desirable.
* Familiarity with database programming and data historians are also desirable.
* Travel:
* Travel to customer sites for on-site support or to industry conferences (5-10% travel expected).
