Talent Manager, Employee Relations
Doc’s Diesel is seeking an HR Generalist to lead the company’s recruiting efforts while managing core HR operations for a growing organization. Approximately 70% of this role focuses on full-cycle recruiting and talent acquisition
, including sourcing, interviewing, negotiations, and hiring top talent across warehouse, operations, and corporate roles. The remaining 30% focuses on HR management
, including benefits administration, employee relations, compliance, safety programs, and HR process ownership.
This role will operate as an HR team of one
, requiring someone who is comfortable wearing multiple hats, taking ownership of HR systems, and confidently managing sensitive employee situations. The HR Generalist will play a key role in building scalable HR processes, maintaining compliance with employment laws and OSHA safety standards, and ensuring a positive employee experience across the organization.
The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and comfortable taking initiative — from creating job descriptions and negotiating offers to building SOPs, improving processes, and owning the company’s HRIS system (Bamboo
HR).
- Lead full-cycle recruiting including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and hiring candidates
- Create and manage job descriptions and postings across Linked In, Indeed, and BambooHR
- Manage the applicant tracking system and candidate pipelines in BambooHR
- Partner with department leaders to understand hiring needs and workforce planning
- Coordinate interviews and extend employment offers, including compensation discussions
- Track recruiting metrics and continuously improve hiring processes
- Manage onboarding and offboarding processes for new and departing employees
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation in BambooHR
- Handle employee relations matters including performance issues and workplace conflicts
- Support performance reviews, performance improvement plans, and employee development
- Assist with benefits administration and employee communication regarding benefits
- Support workplace safety initiatives, OSHA compliance, and training tracking
- Develop and improve HR SOPs, policies, and internal processes
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
- Provide HR guidance and support to leadership and employees
- 3–5+ years of experience in Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, or HR operations
- Demonstrated experience managing full-cycle recruiting and hiring processes
- Strong understanding of Ohio and federal employment laws and multi-state compliance
- Experience managing an HRIS and ATS systems (Bamboo
HR, Linked In Recruiter, Indeed, or similar) - Knowledge of I-9, E-Verify, W-4, and employment documentation requirements
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations, workplace safety programs, and compliance practices
- Experience handling employee relations, performance management, and HR compliance
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail when managing employee records, payroll data, and benefits
- Proficient in Google Workspace and modern workplace tools, with the ability to quickly learn new systems
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to navigate difficult conversations
- Self-motivated and comfortable operating independently in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
