Position Overview

The Finance Director is a key member of the senior leadership team, responsible for safeguarding the overall financial health of the company and its related entities, including real estate holdings. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, robust internal controls, disciplined cash flow management, and full regulatory compliance.

Description

The Finance Director provides critical financial visibility to the executive team and drives disciplined execution in accounting, compliance, forecasting, and risk management. The ideal candidate is highly proficient in EDI systems, thrives in a fast‑paced e‑commerce and omnichannel retail environment, and excels at building scalable financial infrastructure to support rapid company growth.

Core Responsibilities Accounting, Financial Operations & Reporting
  • Oversee all accounting functions for PTC and its real‑estate entities.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain strong internal financial controls, including segregation of duties.
  • Lead and own monthly close processes, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Prepare and present clear, insightful materials on monthly results, budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis to the leadership team.
  • Provide guidance to other departments on accounting policies, budgeting procedures, and efficient resource utilization.
  • Enhance and expand financial reporting dashboards for better visibility and decision‑making.
  • Build and maintain sophisticated financial models to support strategic planning and growth initiatives.
EDI & Systems Oversight (Critical Focus Area)
  • Provide financial ownership and oversight of EDI compliance to minimize penalties and ensure operational excellence.
  • Reconcile chargebacks, fines, and deductions from retailers.
  • Ensure compliance with retailer routing requirements, ASN (Advance Ship Notice) accuracy, and PO (Purchase Order) processing.
  • Troubleshoot EDI mapping issues and transaction errors.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally across the organization to maintain system integrity, accurate revenue and invoice capture, avoidance of retailer fines, and full operational compliance.
Tax & Compliance
  • Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local income, payroll, and sales tax laws and regulations.
  • Proactively monitor and identify tax strategy opportunities.
  • Coordinate effectively with external CPA firms and tax advisors.
Insurance & Risk Management
  • Manage all corporate insurance policies, including workers’ compensation.
  • Oversee financial aspects of safety‑related exposure and risk mitigation.
Requirements

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in a Controller or senior accounting/finance leadership role.
  • Strong, hands‑on experience with EDI systems (SPS Commerce and Cleo required).
  • Proven background in e‑commerce, retail, or omnichannel environments.
  • Experience managing multi‑entity accounting structures.
  • Advanced expertise in cash flow forecasting and management.
  • Proficiency in advanced Excel and financial modeling.
  • Demonstrated experience handling taxes, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Comfort presenting financial insights and recommendations to executive leadership.
  • Systems‑oriented mindset with experience implementing and improving financial processes and tools.
  • CPA certification preferred (not required, but highly desirable).
