Test Engineer

Position: Church International - Test Engineer
Brussels (Hybrid: 50% onsite / 50% homeworking)

Freelance contract

Must reside in Belgium and hold the independent right to work in Belgium.

We are hiring on behalf of a leading European bank for an Expert Test Engineer to join their organisation.

You will play a key role in enhancing testing capabilities across multiple squads. You will work closely with other Test Engineers, Agile and Dev Ops coaches, and development teams to define and implement testing strategies, improve test maturity, and foster a culture of automation, quality, and collaboration.

Key responsibilities

Collaborate with teams to assess current testing practices, tools, and workflows.

Define and implement tailored test roadmaps for each squad, aligned with the Tribe's test strategy.

Support squads in adopting and integrating test practices and test automation.

Deliver training sessions and workshops on testing methodologies.

Monitor squad progress and guide to ensure continuous improvement.

Act as feature quality owner for cross-squad initiatives, defining test approaches and tracking progress.

Platform & tools:

Testing strategy and best practices

Unit testing, test automation, service Virtualisation, performance testing, and test management tools

Required experience & skills

Minimum 8 years' relevant experience

Hands-on experience with Agile development teams and test automation

Expertise in Octane, Java, GIT, Cucumber with JUnit, Selenium Web Driver, Page Object Model, and test automation best practices

Knowledge of the banking or insurance sector

Strong communication, coaching, and mentoring skills

Excellent problem-solving abilities and adaptability in a fast-paced environment

Preferable:
Experience as a Test Automation Engineer

Language requirements:

Very good command of English

French and/or Dutch is an advantage
