Overview

Sunray Animal Clinic is looking to add a compassionate and skilled Veterinary Assistant to our fast-paced team. At our Rarebreed clinic, you’ll help reimagine the veterinary experience in your community with comprehensive medical, surgical and dental care, using the latest technology and state-of-the-art training facilities, and collaborating with a positive team to deliver high-quality care to pet patients.

Sunray Animal Clinic is a well-established, full-service, small animal veterinary hospital providing comprehensive medical, surgical and dental care. We provide diagnostic procedures through in-house testing and external laboratories, and work with local practices for special procedures. The facility includes a well-stocked pharmacy, in-hospital surgery suite, in-house x-ray capabilities, a supervised hospitalization area, and indoor boarding kennels with outdoor walking areas. Brunswick, ME is home to Bowdoin College, Bowdoin International Music Festival, the Peary-Macmillan Arctic Museum and the Maine State Music Theatre.

Maine Street offers diverse dining, shops and activities;
Freeport and Portland are nearby. Sunray Vet is located in Brunswick, ME.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Executing treatment orders
  • Performing blood draws
  • Collecting urine samples – void, express, cystocentesis
  • Administering medications – PO, IM, SQ, SL, IV
  • Keeping cages clean and sanitized
  • Walking, feeding, and picking up after the animals
  • Housekeeping duties (laundry, dishes, taking out garbage, etc.)
  • Communicating with clients via phone and in-person
  • Taking Radiographs, CBC, Chem, LYTES, urinalysis
  • Restraining animals
  • Outpatient procedures
  • Filling prescribed medications

REQUIREMENTS
  • High school diploma or equivalent
