Bowling... dinners... cooking classes... hockey games... fairs... festivals... fitness groups in our own facility... road trips...
movies... you name it, we probably do it!
This is a full time position - hours may fluctuate a bit but will be a steady 8:30am - 4:30pm, with occasional evening and weekend activity hours.
Direct Support Professionals are responsible to work as part of a health care team in support of individuals with intellectual disabilities; providing assistance to individuals in their home, community and employment settings. A Direct Support Professional (DSP) supports individuals in areas including but not limited to personal assistance, self-care, self-management, personal development, community inclusion, communication and personal well-being.
Minimum Qualifications- At least 17 years of age.
- Valid driver’s license for at least one year
- Reliable transportation, insured personal vehicle and be eligible to be covered by agency liability insurance
- Clean criminal, driving, adult protective, and child protective records
- Must hold valid Maine DSP Certificate, or obtain one within 3 months of hire
- Must have demonstrated communication skills, including the ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language so that the support of individuals served can be met, and so that the relationship and work with co-workers, team members and health professionals is successful.
