This is a systems-heavy, enterprise-driven logistics role — not a warehouse or field position. This is a desk-based operational role.
Position OverviewThe Logistics Coordinator manages the full freight lifecycle from order receipt through delivery and invoice reconciliation, primarily handling refrigerated (reefer) shipments.
This is a fast-paced, high-volume environment where 15–30 loads may be active simultaneously. Accuracy, speed, and strong communication are critical.
This role is ERP-intensive and requires strong data entry discipline and system accuracy. Small errors can create financial risk.
Weekend call availability is required to monitor active loads and handle problems as they come up.
Core Responsibilities- Source and negotiate competitive refrigerated freight rates
- Tender loads and enforce strict carrier communication timelines
- Ensure compliance with frozen requirements (-10°F, wooden pallets)
- Manage blind shipments and documentation accuracy
- Coordinate Canadian imports when applicable
- Review and process Sales Orders (SO) and Purchase Orders (PO)
- Verify pallet counts, weights, commodity type, and release numbers
- Ensure data accuracy to prevent billing and delivery errors
- Issue inbound and outbound release documentation
- Generate pick tickets and PO documentation
- Confirm addresses and special handling instructions
- Proactively communicate shipment updates and exceptions
- Manage short ships and missing cases
- Coordinate between Sales, Inventory, Accounting, carriers, and customers
- Audit BOLs, PODs, and freight invoices
This is not a routine scheduling role.
You will be:
- Managing multiple refrigerated loads simultaneously
- Working heavily inside ERP systems
- Handling time-sensitive exceptions in real time
- Managing cross-border (Canadian) shipments
- Being available when loads move over weekends
- Strong data entry accuracy

Candidates who succeed in this role are highly detail-oriented, structured, communicative, and comfortable working in systems for extended periods.
Qualifications- 2+ years experience in freight brokerage, transportation coordination, or logistics
- Experience working in ERP systems (Fresh Byte or similar strongly preferred)
- Experience with TMS systems (Freight View preferred)
- Knowledge of FTL shipping, BOL/POD documentation, blind shipments, and accessorial charges
- Knowledge of Canadian imports strongly preferred
- Ability to manage 15–30 active shipments at once
- Availability to be on call over weekends
