The Project Engagement Coordinator will play a pivotal role in facilitating effective communication and collaboration between Brunswick House First Nation and Hydro One throughout the lifecycle of the transmission projects.

The Project Engagement Coordinator will lead day-to-day engagement activities, ensuring that community concerns are addressed, and questions and interests are effectively communicated to Hydro One while also supporting the dissemination of project information to Brunswick House First Nation leadership and community members.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead day-to-day engagement activities (Project and Lifecycle) by coordinate and oversee engagement activities related to the projects’ lifecycle.
  • Ensure timely and effective communication between Brunswick House First Nation and Hydro One.
  • Coordinate and support specific engagement activities by organizing meetings to identify questions, issues, and concerns.
  • Support discussions on mitigation measures to address identified issues. Facilitate internal report reviews.
  • Collaborate with Hydro One by supporting the dissemination of project information to Brunswick House First Nation leadership and community members.
  • Collect and relay community comments, issues, and concerns to Hydro One. Collaborate to maximize contracting and employment opportunities for Brunswick House First Nation members.
  • Supervise field monitor positions to oversee the work of field monitors who will be conducting fieldwork and monitoring project activities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Indigenous Studies, Environmental Studies, Business Administration) or equivalent work experience. Must have a Valid Class “G” driver’s license, use of vehicle, and certification to operate a boat, ATV, and side by side.
  • Previous experience in project coordination, community engagement, or related fields.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to organize and facilitate meetings and events.
  • Knowledge of Indigenous culture, protocols, and rights, particularly within the context of resource development projects.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to attain and maintain a cleared Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC) check including the Vulnerable Sector (VS) check.
  • Must have knowledge of Brunswick House First Nation’s values, culture, and tradition.
