Job Summary

This position assists with day to day operations of the Human Resources department and administers the colleges human resources policies, student employment, workers compensation and drug testing programs. This position is designated as Campus Security Authority (CSA).

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with supervisors and students in the student employment process. Reviews student employment paperwork; enters and manages student employment personnel data in various HRIS systems.
  • Administers the colleges workers compensation and drug testing programs and process motor vehicle use authorizations.
  • Support internal and external HR related inquiries and requests to include oral and written requests for employment verification and salary verification.
  • Drafts employment ads, and job announcements for review by hiring managers; places ads for faculty and staff positions with newspapers and other publications as appropriate; places job announcements on internet websites.
  • Coordinates the completion of University System of Georgia employee compliance training and I-9 audits.
  • Partners with hiring managers and staffing agencies to procure temporary workers.
  • Assists the department with general administrative tasks to include purchase requisitions, check requests and ordering supplies.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications

    Educational Requirements
    Associates degree

    Required Experience
    More than 3 years of related experience

    Preferred Qualifications

    Preferred Educational Qualifications
    Baccalaureate degree in a course of study related to the occupational field

    Preferred Experience

    Experience with drug testing and/or workers compensation program
    Experience with student employee

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

    ABILITIES
    Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion with files and sensitive situations.

    KNOWLEDGE
    Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures.
    Knowledge of college and departmental policies and procedures.
    Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs.
    Knowledge of E-Verify and GA New Hire reporting requirements.

    SKILLS
    Skill in prioritizing and organizing work.
    Skill in the use of such office equipment as a computer, scanner, fax machine, and copier.
    Skill in oral and written communication.
