Golden Isles College & Career Academy (GICCA), located in Brunswick, Georgia, is a public charter school dedicated to fostering career and academic success for high school students and adults. Position Summary:
The healthcare science teacher provides instruction in selected areas of Healthcare Science Technology to ensure that students gain appropriate knowledge and skills about the industry and are prepared for a career and postsecondary opportunities. Courses include Introduction to healthcare, Essentials of Healthcare, Phlebotomy, Clinical Lab.
Education:
Bachelor Degree required in a healthcare related field;
Registered Nurse or higher preferred.
Certification/Licensure:
Must hold a current healthcare professional license, registration, or certification that relates to the healthcare field issued by an appropriate governing or regulatory body. Must hold a valid Georgia Healthcare Science Certification or meet qualifications in order to apply for the FLD
619 certificate with the Georgia Professional Standards Commission.
Minimum of two years of occupational work experience in the healthcare field required; nursing background preferred.
Physical Activity- Standing and walking for prolonged periods of time, sitting, talking, and hearing
- Lifting up to 15 pounds, carrying, pushing or pulling
