Registered Nurse (Med/Surg) – Travel RN Night Shift | Brownwood, TX 76801

Registered Nurse (Med/Surg) Travel RN – Night Shift in Brownwood, TX. 13-week travel nursing assignment; 2+ years Med/Surg experience required. Join a community hospital in Central Texas and advance your career with a supportive team and excellent clinical exposure.

• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1730-$1820/week

• Location: Brownwood, TX 76801 (Central Texas) – Brownwood healthcare jobs, Texas nursing jobs
• Assignment Type: Travel RN, On-site
• Unit: Medical/Surgical (BW MSN 2E Med Surg)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (19:00 - 07:00) – Med/Surg RN night shift
• Hours per Week: 36 or 48 hours/week considered
• Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 3/30/2026, End: 6/29/2026)
• Patient Ratio: 1:5
• Weekend Coverage: Required (6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule)
• Orientation: 40 hours (includes 6-8 hours of modules)

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand at submission (RN license required)
• Minimum 2 years recent Med/Surg RN experience (preferred travel nursing experience)
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Experience with Allscripts or Altera electronic charting systems preferred
• Must complete required labs within 72 hours of offer acceptance
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered); COVID-19 vaccine not required
• Must pass facility drug screen upon arrival (includes marijuana)
• Travel distance requirement: candidate must be at least 150 miles from facility (local candidates not accepted)

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients on a 13-bed Med/Surg unit
• Manage patient load of up to 5 per shift, including post-op, ortho, diabetes, pneumonia, wound care, and urological cases
• Perform clinical skills: IV starts, central/PICC line care, blood product administration, wound care, feeding tube and colostomy/ileostomy management
• Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and manage patients on BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and oxygen therapy
• Participate in rapid response/code teams and follow isolation precautions and PPE protocols
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including PT, RT, pharmacy, radiology, and social services
• Document care accurately and efficiently using electronic charting systems (Allscripts/Altera)
• Float and on-call coverage as required (one on-call shift per 6-week schedule)
