Overview

Registered Nurses deliver care to patients utilizing the nursing process. Nurses collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes. Nurses interact with patients and significant others, while maintaining the standard of professional nursing. Registered Nurses provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients based on the application of scientific nursing principles. Cardiac Rehab and Heart Failure Registered Nurses provide care for primarily adult patients with a Cardiac diagnosis.

• Deliver care to patients using the nursing process and evidence-based practices.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective patient care delivery and outcomes.
• Communicate with patients and significant others while upholding professional nursing standards.
• Provide direct and individualized nursing care based on scientific nursing principles.
• Care for patients with cardiology diagnoses while being prepared to manage a broad range of comorbidities.
• Participate in committee activities, surveys, and improvement initiatives as part of professional responsibilities.
• Uphold the standards of the Texas Nurse Practice Act.
• Cardiac Rehab and Heart Failure Registered Nurses primarily care for adult patients with cardiac diagnoses.

• Minimum Education
  • Graduate of Accredited School of Nursing (Diploma, ADN, BSN)
• Minimum Work Experience
  • No previous experience
• Required Licenses/Certifications
  • Registered Nurse
  • BLS - should not initiate patient contact until completed
  • ACLS should be completed within 90 days of hire
• Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
  • Input data into computers
  • Familiar with therapeutic equipment
  • Designated Driver
  • OSHA Category 3 - Low Risk
