Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

Overview

Registered Nurses deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure effective, safe, and timely care. They interact with patients and families while maintaining the highest standards of professional nursing practice.

Emergency Department (ED) Registered Nurses provide care for patients of all ages with a wide variety of illnesses and injuries. Due to the unpredictable and fast-paced nature of the ED, nurses must continuously prioritize patient needs and interventions to maintain safe and efficient care. Additionally, Registered Nurses are expected to participate in committee activities, surveys, and quality improvement initiatives while upholding the standards of the Texas Nurse Practice Act
.

Provide patient care in the Emergency Department across all ages with a focus on safe, efficient, and timely interventions. Prioritize patient needs in a fast-paced environment and participate in quality improvement activities as required.

Education

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (Diploma or Associate Degree)

Work Experience

• No previous experience required

Licenses & Certifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) – Required
• BLS – must be completed prior to patient contact
• ACLS – within 90 days of hire
• NIHSS – within 90 days of hire
• PALS or ENPC – within 6 months of hire
• TNCC – within 18 months of hire
