Speech-Language Pathologist - PRN
Creative Solutions In Health Care invites you to apply for a Per Diem (PRN) Speech Language Pathologist role in Brownwood Nursing & Rehabilitation. Join our in‑house team of dedicated professionals who provide person‑centered care to residents and strive for positive outcomes.
Responsibilities- Evaluate residents for swallowing or cognitive deficits.
- Help residents achieve goals to improve cognition or swallowing.
- Provide education for residents and caregivers.
- Conduct skilled, medically necessary speech and language therapy assessments and develop individualized treatment plans to increase client independence and functioning.
- Provide augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems for individuals with severe expressive and/or language comprehension disorders.
- Deliver training and education to clients, family, caregivers, and other professionals as a subject matter expert.
- Coordinate and collaborate with other professionals for diagnostic swallowing procedures (MBSS, FEES) as ordered by a physician.
- Demonstrate competent technical skills in accordance with current Speech Therapy standards of practice.
- Communicate changes in residents’ condition.
- Provide accurate and timely billing records and supporting clinical documentation.
- Respond to family requests and concerns promptly.
- Coordinate and provide training with Restorative Nursing and other care staff.
- Ensure resident abuse or neglect does not occur.
- Observe confidentiality and safeguards for all patient information.
- Comply with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements.
- SNF/Long‑term care experience preferred.
- Current knowledge of treatment practices.
- Knowledge of Net Health Electronic Documentation System preferred.
- Ability to manage patients with different personality types.
- Active/Valid Texas license in Speech‑Language Pathology.
- Current ASHA certification.
- In good standing with all regulatory agencies and licensing boards.
- In‑house rehab (non‑contracted).
