Brownwood, Texas is a thriving city located on the northern edge of the hill country and is only a short drive to many other major cities in Texas. Brownwood is known for some of the best hunting and fishing in Texas.

The city of Brownwood offers an aquatic center, large recreational lake, and activities that the whole family can enjoy. Hendrick Medical Center has recently opened a Surgery Center. This outpatient surgery center is a joint venture between Hendrick Medical Center and Abilene and Brownwood physicians.

It will offer same-day surgery for specialties including otolaryngology (ENT), gastroenterology, orthopedics, podiatry, urology, gynecology, ophthalmology, pain management and plastic surgery. Hendrick has hired two midlevels to practice in Brownwood. Their clinic is within walking distance of Brownwood Regional Medical Center. Hendricks vision is to recruit primary care and subspecialties to support the Brownwood community.
