Job SummaryThis role provides direct clinical patient care. The RN will assume responsibility for assessing, planning, and implementing direct clinical care to assigned patients on a per‑shift basis and at the unit level. The RN is responsible for supervising staff to which appropriate care is delegated and for ensuring high quality, safe, and appropriate nursing care, competency of clinical staff, and appropriate resource management related to patient care.
The RN supports the CNO to maintain high standards of nursing care.
- Provide high‑quality, safe, cost‑effective, total nursing care to all patients.
- Assume responsibility for overall coordination and integration of patient care based on the nursing process.
- Direct care according to established standards of safety, risk management, QI, and infection control to discharge patients with optimum care.
- Coordinate and plan patient care within the prescribed medical regime.
- Administer all medications safely and in a timely manner per hospital policy.
- Perform and fulfill all HICS responsibilities, assignments, tasks, and roles as directed and needed by the facility in times of emergency and/or disaster.
- Know the hospital’s emergency codes, including the purpose and appropriate action for each, and adhere to hospital policies and procedures for each emergency code.
- Education:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. - License &
Certifications:
Currently licensed, certified, or registered to practice as required by law or state regulation; AHA BLS, and if applicable by corporate policy for unit of hire, AHA ACLS and/or PALS and/or NRP.
- Education:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in nursing. - Experience:
Recent acute care experience.
