Job Summary

SMS Shipbreaking is seeking a highly skilled and safety-focused Nonferrous Supervisor in our Brownsville, TX location.

SMS Shipbreaking is prideful in the fact that we are one of only three licensed & approved dismantle rs and recyclers in the United States. The process of ship breaking, and ship recycling is a complex process that requires precision and technical prowess.

• Ensure a safe workplace
• Provide / attend the daily Tool Box Talk
• Always have proper PPE (He and assistant), Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including Environmental, Safety and Health guidelines and best practices
• Keep always proactive attitude
• Keep the workplace clean
• Load materials base on the Sales Order
• Keep warehouse inventory updated
• Nonferrous Yard
• Lead a production team to achieve optimal safety and productivity
• Received and find the proper location of the materials arrive from the yard of customers
• Comply with cost savings initiatives, identify and recognize ways to reduce costs and enhance revenue, including treating any company expenses the same as you would if it was your own money
• Collaboration
• Plan, participate and actively contribute to internal and external business meetings as needed
• Operate Forklift

Ability to walk more than 1000 yards; stand for extended periods of time; ability to lift and carry no more than 50 lbs.; climb stairs and/or ladders; stooping; crawling; reaching; handling; pushing; pulling; twisting; kneeling; squatting; seeing; speaking; hearing; problem solving, discretion and independent judgment; regular and dependable attendance.

Requires physical exertion with exposure to natural elements -- working within and around vessels and ships, scrap metal recycling yard.
