Job Summary:

This role provides direct clinical patient care. The RN is responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing direct clinical care to assigned patients on a shift basis, and at the unit level. The RN supervises staff to which appropriate care is delegated, and supports the CNO to ensure high quality, safe and appropriate nursing care. The RN ensures competency of clinical staff and appropriate resource management related to patient care.

• Required:
  
  Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Preferred:
  Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nursing.

• Preferred:
  Recent acute care experience.

• Required:
  
  Currently licensed, certified, or registered to practice profession as required by law, regulation in state of practice or policy; AHA BLS, and if applicable by corporate policy for unit of hire, AHA ACLS and/or PALS and/or NRP.
• BLS:
  At hire or obtain within 5 working days before assuming patient care (2 yr renewal).

The RN provides high‑quality, safe, cost-effective, total nursing care to all patients. The RN assumes responsibility for overall coordination and integration of patient care based on the nursing process. The RN directs care according to established standards of safety, risk management, QI, and Infection Control, with the goal of discharging the patient with an optimum level of care. The RN coordinates and plans patient care within the prescribed medical regime, administers all medications safely and in a timely manner per hospital policy, performs and fulfills all HICS responsibilities, assignments, tasks, and roles as directed in emergencies, and knows the hospital’s emergency codes and procedures.
