Role DescriptionThis is a full-time, on-site role located in Brownsville, TX, for an Electrical & Instrument Specialist. The specialist will be responsible for the installation oversight, inspection, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of electrical systems associated with gas turbines, steam turbines, and compressor trains in LNG and Oil & Gas facilities. This role ensures all electrical equipment, power distribution systems, protection schemes, and control interfaces are installed and commissioned in accordance with project specifications, OEM requirements, applicable international standards, and site safety procedures to support safe, reliable, and efficient plant operation.
Qualifications- Proven experience with turbine and compressor electrical packages, including generator excitation and protection systems.
- Familiarity with OEM systems (Baker Hughes preferred).
- Experience in installation and maintenance of HV and LV power distribution equipment.
- Proficiency in electrical testing and fault diagnostics.
- Familiarity with hazardous area classification and explosion-proof equipment (ATEX / IECEx).
- Ability to interpret complex electrical drawings and protection schemes.
- Strong understanding of electrical safety practices including LOTO and arc flash requirements.
- Excellent coordination, troubleshooting, and communication skills in a multi-discipline EPC project environment.
