McFarland Johnson is offering an exciting opportunity for an Aviation Planner to join our growing and dynamic Aviation Division
. We are further expanding our Brownsville, Texas operation and looking for someone who is ready to play a key role in MJ’s continued growth in Texas. MJ is committed at the highest levels to this regional growth and building a multi-disciplined team in the Rio Grande Valley.

• Support regional and national airport and aviation planning assignments including:
  • Airport master plans and layout plans.
  • AutoCAD drawing development.
  • Avi Plan aircraft and facility modeling.
• Work directly with airport sponsors as an extension of staff, helping to shape aviation solutions at the ground level.
• Research industry standards, best practices, and FAA/TxDOT requirements to guide infrastructure improvements.
• Collaborate with MJ’s aviation professionals across offices to deliver innovative, client-focused services.

• Bachelor’s degree in Urban/Regional Planning, Aviation Management, or related field.
• 3-6 years of progressive planning experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, GIS, and Avi Plan (preferred).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• A self-motivated, organized mindset with the ability to manage multiple projects and client relationships.
