As a Payroll & Union Benefits Assistant, you will be responsible for accurate and timely entry and processing of payroll data while providing day-to-day administrative support to the department. This position will maintain payroll files, union files, and records, and handle incoming calls to the payroll department. This role will also process verification of employment and unemployment claims. Critical for success are a strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, and a high level of confidentiality to process sensitive information.
Responsibilities- Accurately and timely entry and processing of payroll data; provide day-to-day administrative support to the payroll department.
- Maintain payroll files, union files, and records; handle incoming calls to the payroll department.
- Process verification of employment and unemployment claims.
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining confidentiality.
- High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- Associate’s Degree in a related field (desired)
- Payroll or accounting experience (desired)
