Logistics Supervisor

Job Summary

The Logistics Supervisor will be responsible for maintaining safety, quality, efficiency, cost, service, and delivery standards within their team. The supervisor will oversee the locations of merchandise shipments and attend to the needs of team members. They will support the Logistics Manager by ensuring proper training of the drivers and on-time delivery and pick-up schedules. The Logistics Supervisor should maintain respectful and fluid communication with their team, manager, customers, and other company associates.

• Supervise and correct team members for proper load management, reinforcing associate and load safety measures.
• Supervise and evaluate the safe and efficient process of loading and unloading merchandise throughout the shift.
• Ensure loading areas are kept clean and free of obstacles that could cause accidents.
• Coordinate and supervise dock employees to ensure proper utilization of company and customer resources.
• Organize dock work schedules and coordinate time-off requests with the supervisor.
• Work closely with the production team to align with daily/weekly/monthly and annual business objectives.
• Perform daily inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards regulated by law, including OSHA and DOT compliance.
• Inspect trailers for cleanliness and proper loading/unloading techniques.
• Lead daily team meetings to maintain clear communication with the team.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Driver’s License
• Excellent communication skills
• Organized and proactive
• Supervisory experience preferred
• 3+ years working in operations, preferably in the transportation industry
• Knowledge of general DOT & OSHA regulations is a plus
• Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Demonstrated leadership abilities
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in supervising a logistics team

• Lifting requirement of 30-50 lbs at a time
• Prolonged periods of standing or sitting at a workstation
• Must be physically able to walk, lift, bend, push, pull, and stretch
• Will be exposed to a loud noise environment
• May be exposed to dust
• Must be available to work extended weeks and weekends or on-call when required

Salary Range: $60,000 - $70,000 yearly
