Overview

Position Summary...

What you’ll do
  • Directs and guides members of management and hourly associates on proper customer service approaches and techniques by modeling excellent customer service, ensuring customer needs, complaints and issues are resolved within company guidelines and standards, and building relationships with associates to provide feedback and answers.
  • Drives and ensures the financial performance of the facility by confirming that budgeted sales, wages and other expenses are achieved; assists the store manager in leading the management team in controlling expenses and wages, and implementing plans to improve financial performance.
  • Creates budgets to align with business needs, analyzes economic trends and community needs for budget forecasting.
  • Participates in community outreach programs and encourages associates to serve as good members of the community by establishing and maintaining relationships with key individuals or groups and representing the company to external organizations following media guidelines and promoting company programs, events and sustainability efforts.
  • Directs facility operations by setting service levels, teaching and developing effective merchandise presentation, maintaining in-stock and inventory levels, and ensuring proper pricing, signage, and adherence to company programs and strategic initiatives; oversees safety and quality assurance reviews.
  • Provides supervision and development opportunities for management and hourly associates by hiring, training, mentoring, delegating duties, setting expectations, recognizing performance, and developing qualified staff to meet staffing needs and growth potential.
  • Drives execution of multiple business plans by identifying customer and operational needs, developing and communicating plans, removing barriers, providing resources, measuring progress, and adjusting performance; develops contingency plans and supports continuous learning.
  • Promotes and supports company policies, procedures, mission, values, and ethics by training others and ensuring compliance, supporting Open Door Policy, and evaluating ongoing effectiveness of plans and initiatives.
  • Fosters a culture of belonging, collaboration, and respect; builds high-performing teams, motivates and influences through energy and positivity, and develops talent.
  • Acts with integrity, serves customers, and strives for excellence by balancing short- and long-term priorities and leveraging data and analysis to inform decisions.
  • Supports Walmart’s broader initiatives and sustainability efforts, including community engagement and responsible business practices.

Minimum Qualifications

Outlined below are the required minimum qualifications for this position. If none are listed, there are no minimum qualifications.

  • 1 year’s general management experience to include financial accountability.
  • 2 years’ of college; OR 1 year’s retail experience and 1 year’s experience supervising 10 associates/employees; OR 2 years’ general work experience and 1 year’s experience supervising 10 associates/employees.
  • For facilities that sell only ammunition and have state-specific requirements, current state-issued Certificate of Eligibility may be required.
  • For facilities that sell firearms, successful completion of a firearms-specific criminal background check and related training may be required.
  • Associates will be required to attend and complete job-required trainings and assessments (e.g., Academy trainings, Open Door trainings).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership via Live Better U and Bellevue University.
  • Experience supervising 20+ direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.
