Position: Wire EDM Programmer/Operator - 1st shift - Temp - Hire

Essential Functions

  • Set-up and maintain Wire EDM
  • Lay block in machine with print as guide
  • Indicate straightness, flatness etc. with magnetic head
  • Plot and test run program for accuracy and according to print spec.
  • Run machine and maintain sufficient wire and load wire spools
  • Perform quality checks
  • Drop slugs or remove waste material from EDM processes
  • Remove block by hand and clean with solvents and air gun.
  • Programming for Wire EDM
  • Coordinate incoming projects and repairs with tooling department staff
  • Program tool paths
  • Establish and meet project time lines.
    • Supervision Received and Given

    Reports to the Tooling Manager

    Educational Requirements

    High School Diploma or GED

    Experience / Knowledge / Skills
    • 3 years' experience as an EDM programmer and operator.
    • Strong time management skills
    • Able to work independently
    • Journeyman Card as a toolmaker would be a plus (not required)
