Job Summary

The Registered Nurse assumes primary leadership accountability and responsibility for milieu management and directing patient knowing activities of other nursing staff. The RN maintains professional nursing practice standards per facility policy, procedures, external governance, performance improvement standards, and psychiatric nursing standards.

The RN assesses patients using the nursing process to create individualized plans of care, implements interventions, and evaluates outcomes consistent with policy and the patient’s condition to promote physical and mental health and prevent illness. The RN interprets age and disability‑specific information relevant to the client population served.

Safe medication delivery is provided per policy, procedures, physician orders, and current practice. The RN documents patient symptoms, responses, and progress accurately and thoroughly. The RN is responsible for professional development, continuing education, and maintaining licensure. All duties are carried out in accordance with Joint Commission, federal and state regulations, Oceans' mission, policies, and performance improvement standards.

Essential Functions
  • Utilises the nursing process—assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation—to formulate and direct individualized care and treatment modalities.
  • Identifiesket risk levels, precautions, and outcomes individualized per client; includes discharge planning, prescribes interventions, evaluates effectiveness, and stabilizes patients during medical/psychiatric crises.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of psychiatric disorders and applies appropriate nursing interventions to progress patients toward wellness and maintain it.
  • Administers medications safely, provides education on prescribed medications, and recognizes signs of adverse reactions.
  • Demonstrates professionalism, accountability, responsibility for decision‑making, quality nursing care FLOOR, and knowledge of psychiatric nursing care.
  • Reviews, revises, and updates medical records within facility guidelines and time frames; transcribes physician orders per policy; documents care, progress, and response accurately.
  • Follows up on care responsibilities, communicates incomplete assignments, and current client needs to staff to assure continuity of care.
  • 集 delegates duties appropriately and assists staff and patients; serves as an advocate for patient needs and safety.
  • applies nursing knowledge to enhance evidence‑based practice and meets the needs of the facility, patient population, and staff.
  • Floats among various clinical services as qualified and performs other duties and projects as assigned.
Requirements Educational / Experience Requirements
  • Current, valid, and active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of employment at an Oceans Healthcare hospital.
  • Valid Compact licenses are also acceptable.
  • Minimum of an Associate Degree in Nursing is required.
  • One year of inpatient hospital experience strongly preferred.
