Job SummaryThe Regional Community Sales Manager reports to the Community Banking National Sales Leader and is responsible for the regional sales strategy to acquire and grow client relationships in the low to moderate income (LMI) communities and diverse market segments. Responsible for coaching Retail Community Center branch teams on the effective delivery of consumer banking products and financial literacy programs to prospective and existing Community Banking client segments, as well as identifying and engaging critical employer relationships for workplace banking opportunities.
This role also partners with Market Sales Leaders across the respective region to ensure a cohesive and consistent execution of Community Banking client acquisition, delivery of client focused products and services, and achievement of performance goals.
- Coach, develop, and motivate Community Center branch teams on how to effectively deliver consumer bank products, services and financial literacy programs to LMI communities and diverse market segments
- Source critical employer relationships in defined markets and partner with branch teams to pitch and establish workplace banking relationships
- Partner with Retail Market Sales Leaders to implement sales activities that drive Community Banking client acquisition and growth, which includes but is not limited to increasing deposits, net new and relationship households and share of wallet
- Attracts and retains large workplace banking clients to grow financial literacy opportunities with diverse employee bases.
- Partner with Retail Market Sales Leaders to inspect branch team behaviors and collaborate on performance management efforts, when applicable, to ensure consistent and effective delivery of Community Bank programs, products, services and financial literacy sessions
- Provide literacy and financial coaching sessions within the retail branches as well as out in the communities across the respective region
- Create formalized structure for community listening and feedback
- Collaborate with Corporate Responsibility Officers to drive Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) improvement based on objectives and action items established by the Corporate Responsibility Line of Business
- Research and fully understand competitors' strengths/weaknesses and product offerings/pricing
- Meet or exceed established Community Banking client growth and relationship goals by ensuring the teams are using appropriate sales and service processes in all client interactions. This is accomplished through observational coaching sessions, joint sales calls and branch training sessions.
- Builds trusting relationships with Retail Market Leaders and Community Center Branch teams to ensure that Community Banking focus is well integrated into the business
- Actively participate and encourage participation in Community organizations to source business development opportunities and demonstrate Key's commitment to the local communities served
- Share best practices with other Regional Community Sales Managers to foster an environment of continuous improvement
- Performs other duties as assigned; duties, responsibilities and/or activities may change or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice
- Complies with all Key Bank policies and procedures, including without limitation, acting professionally at all times, conducting business ethically, avoiding conflicts of interest, and acting in the best interests of Key's clients and Key.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience (required)
- 3+ years in sales management role or demonstrated ability to manage and coach sales teams to meet and exceed sales goals (required)
- 3+ years demonstrated sales and business development experience with proven results (required)
- Proven comfort level and confidence regarding calling on business owners and decision makers, including senior level executives
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong presentation skills with the demonstrated ability to engage in and lead group interactive dialogue
- Strong customer service skills
- In-depth knowledge of financial products and banking regulations. Must be familiar with employee-focused products and services to maximize cross sell opportunities (Key Investment Services, Payworks, Health Savings Accounts, etc.)
- Demonstrated ability to provide business development coaching support
- Ability to maintain balance in a high‑paced environment and effectively organize priorities
